Entry via the server list
Add Huby on Minecraft for Windows
This guide is about Minecraft for Windows, the Bedrock edition installed from the Launcher or the Microsoft Store. Java Edition does not speak to Bedrock servers and cannot join Huby.
Windows 10 and 11About 3 minutes
Before you start
- Minecraft for Windows (Bedrock) up to date, on Windows 10 or 11. In the Minecraft Launcher it is the “Minecraft for Windows” tab, not “Java Edition”.
- A Microsoft account signed in within the game, so that Huby keeps your server list.
The steps
- Step 1
Check the edition and the account
In the game menu : Home screenSign in
Launch Minecraft for Windows. If the home screen offers Sign in, do it with your Microsoft account. Java Edition has a different home screen (no Marketplace tab) and cannot join Huby.
- Step 2
Add Huby to your servers
In the game menu : PlayServersAdd Server
Play, Servers tab, then Add Server at the very bottom. Server name: Huby. Server address: hubyy.fr. Port: 19134. Save.
hubyy.fr19134 - Step 3
Join Huby and pick a server
In the game menu : PlayServersHuby
Huby is now in your list. Join it: the menu shows the featured servers, the well-known public servers, then your own. Pick one, and the game connects to it.
Why Huby on a PC that can already add servers?
Because Huby’s list doesn’t live on the PC: it is tied to your Microsoft account. A server added here is waiting for you when you join Huby from a console, where the game lets you type nothing. It is also the most comfortable place to enter an address (a real keyboard) before meeting your friends there on PS5 or Switch. And the featured servers, like the well-known public ones, are in the same place.
Java or Bedrock?
Minecraft for Windows is the Bedrock edition: the same one as on console and phone. Java Edition is a different game with its own servers; it can join neither Huby nor Bedrock servers. The other way round, a Java server only accepts Bedrock players if it installs the Geyser bridge. That is the case of SileneMC, explained in SileneMC on console: Java, Bedrock and Geyser.
Something not working?
“Unable to connect to server”
Check the address and the port. Minecraft Bedrock uses the UDP protocol; an overzealous firewall or antivirus can block it, as can some school or office networks. Try from another network. If the hub is down for maintenance, Discord announces it.
Huby doesn’t show my list
The list is tied to the Microsoft account signed in to the game. Use the same account as on your console, and check that you are signed in (your gamertag shows on the home screen).
Disconnected on arrival at the server
The destination server is refusing: full, updating, or closed to Bedrock players. Go back to Huby and try another server.
And on console?
No “Add server” button: you go through an Xbox friend. The PS5, PS4, Xbox and Switch guides walk through the three moves.
What next?
A question, a blocker, a server to suggest? That is what the Discord is for, and the FAQ already answers the most common questions.
