Entry via Xbox friend
Join a Minecraft server on PS5
The PS5 has no “Add server” button. Huby replaces it with an Xbox friend: you join them, then pick your server from a list. No console settings to touch.
PlayStation 5About 5 minutes
Before you start
- Minecraft (the Bedrock edition, from the PlayStation Store) installed and up to date on the PS5.
- A free Microsoft account: the game offers to sign in on first launch.
- Online play enabled on the console. A PlayStation Plus subscription may be required for online play: check what the game tells you before subscribing.
The steps
- Step 1
Sign in with a Microsoft account in Minecraft
In the game menu : Home screenSign in
Launch Minecraft. If the home screen offers “Sign in”, follow it: the game shows a code and a web address to open on a phone or computer. Without a Microsoft account there are no friends and no servers.
- Step 2
Add HubyOnMC as a friend
In the game menu : PlayFriendsAdd Friend
Go to Play, open the Friends tab and choose Add Friend. Type the gamertag HubyOnMC exactly as written, then send the request. It is accepted automatically, within seconds.
HubyOnMC - Step 3
Join HubyOnMC's world
In the game menu : PlayFriendsJoinable Friends
Back in the Friends tab, under Joinable Friends, HubyOnMC appears with a world named Huby. Select it and confirm: you enter the hub, a small world that shows a menu.
- Step 4
Pick your server
Huby's menu lists the featured servers, then the well-known public servers, then your own. Pick one: the PS5 is transferred there. To add yours, choose Add Server and type its address and port.
Why go through a friend?
On PS5, Minecraft’s Servers tab only shows Mojang’s partner servers. There is nowhere to type an address. Joining a friend’s world, on the other hand, has always been possible. Huby is a world kept open around the clock by the Xbox account HubyOnMC: when you join it, you land in a server menu, and the game transfers you to the one you choose. It is the same mechanism the big Bedrock networks use to move you from one game to another. For the full story, read why consoles have no “Add server” button.
Something not working?
HubyOnMC can’t be found
Check the spelling: one word, no spaces. Friend search goes through the Xbox network; if the console is offline or no Microsoft account is signed in to the game, it returns nothing.
The request stays “pending”
It is normally accepted in under a minute. If it drags on, quit the game and relaunch it: the Friends tab refreshes on launch. If nothing has changed after ten minutes, tell us on Discord and we’ll take a look.
Nothing shows under Joinable Friends
The tab does not refresh on its own. Leave the Friends tab and come back, or relaunch the game. If HubyOnMC is in your friends list but never “joinable”, the hub may be down for maintenance: Discord will say so.
The server disconnects me on arrival
Huby did transfer you, but the destination server refuses Bedrock players, is full, or is updating. Go back to Huby and try another server. Some Java servers go through a Geyser bridge that can be down as well: see the servers page.
And next time?
Nothing to redo. HubyOnMC stays in your friends list and their world stays joinable: Play, Friends, Huby. The servers you added are kept with your Microsoft account, so you find them on every visit, even from another device.
What next?
A question, a blocker, a server to suggest? That is what the Discord is for, and the FAQ already answers the most common questions.
