For servers: open your Minecraft server to console players
Why console players are missing
On PS5, PS4, Xbox and Switch, Minecraft has no “Add server” button. A console player who finds your address can do nothing with it, except change their console’s DNS or install an app on their phone. Many give up at the first attempt. These are players you never see.
Huby opens them the door the console never closed: joining a friend’s world. The Xbox account HubyOnMC keeps a world open around the clock; the player adds it as a friend, joins it, and a server menu transfers them to you. No setting, no app, and next time it is three clicks. The guides per console explain everything to players, in the order of the game’s menus.
What it takes on the server side
- A server joinable from Bedrock. Either a native Bedrock server (UDP port, 19132 by default), or a Java server with Geyser and Floodgate, so that Bedrock players get in without a Java account. The big hosts offer Geyser in one click.
- An accepted transfer. Huby tells the player to connect to your address and port: it is Bedrock’s standard mechanism, the one networks use between their lobbies. Nothing to install, nothing more to open.
- An up-to-date version. Consoles always play the latest version of Minecraft; a server that lags returns “Outdated server” and loses those players until it updates.
- For a Java server: Floodgate set up properly. Without it, console players see “Unable to connect to world” on arrival. The details are in SileneMC on console: Java, Bedrock and Geyser.
You do not have to declare anything to Huby for your players to add you: in the menu, “Add server” takes an address and a port, kept with their Microsoft account. Give them your address, your port, and the link to their console’s guide.
Getting featured in the menu
Featured servers appear at the top of Huby’s menu, before the known public servers and personal lists, with their player count when the server reports it. They are picked by hand: a server that is online and up to date, joinable from Bedrock, moderated, with a website or a Discord where players find the rules. No payment for those. Servers can also pay to be featured; they then carry the label “Sponsored”: see the sponsorship terms.
To suggest yours, go through the Huby Discord: the address, the port, native Bedrock or Geyser, and one line about what is played there. The servers page shows the ones already featured.
What you can tell your players
A text ready to paste on your “join” page, your forum or your Discord announcement:
On PS5, PS4, Xbox or Switch? No need to change the DNS or install an app. Add the Xbox friend HubyOnMC in Minecraft, join its world from the Friends tab, and pick our server in the list (or add it with our address and port). Your console’s guide: hubyy.fr/en/guide/
