Hubyy

Privacy

Huby is built to ask for as little as possible. This page says, plainly, what the site and the hub collect, why, and for how long.

The site sets no cookies

No cookies, no trackers, no account, no newsletter. The site is a set of static pages. It loads nothing from advertising services.

Audience measurement, without trackers

To know which pages really help, the site may use Umami, an audience measurement tool that sets no cookie, does not identify visitors and does not follow anyone from one site to another. It counts page views and a few anonymous actions (choosing a console, clicking the Discord button). The IP address is not kept by this tool. If this measurement is not enabled, nothing is loaded.

Web server logs

Like any web server, the site’s server records for each request the IP address, the page requested, the date and the browser type. These logs are used only for security and troubleshooting. They are kept for TO BE COMPLETED: retention period (for example 30 days), then deleted.

What the hub keeps about you

When you enter Huby from Minecraft, the hub receives from your game the information any server receives, and keeps only two things:

  • your Xbox identifier (a number assigned by Microsoft, the same for every server), which serves as the key;
  • the list of servers you added, to give it back to you on your next visit, on any device.

No e-mail, no password, no messages, no friends list. The HubyOnMC account, which you add as a friend, is driven by a program: it has access neither to your account nor to your worlds.

These two pieces of information are kept for as long as you use Huby. To have them deleted, ask on Discord with your gamertag: the deletion is done by hand, no questions asked.

Third-party services

  • Xbox network (Microsoft): adding a friend and the joinable world go through it, with its own privacy rules.
  • Discord: the short link leads to a Discord server, subject to Discord’s policy. Nothing is shared with Discord from the site.
  • Game servers: once transferred, you are on a server run by third parties, with its own rules.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction or deletion of the data concerning you by writing to TO BE COMPLETED: e-mail address or on Discord. Huby neither sells nor passes on any data.

Minors

Huby asks for neither age nor identity. The console’s family settings (Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo) remain the right way to supervise a child’s online play, and they apply to Huby as to any game with friends.
